Optical character recognition, usually abbreviated to OCR, is that the mechanical or electronic conversion of scanned pictures of written, typed or written text into machine-encoded text. It’s wide used as a style of knowledge entry from some form of original paper data supply, whether or not documents, sales receipts, mail, or any range of written records. It’s a typical technique of digitizing written texts in order that they will be electronically searched, hold on additional succinctly, displayed on-line, and used in machine processes like artificial intelligence, text-to-speech and text mining. OCR could be a field of analysis in pattern recognition, computer science and pc vision. There area unit several applications for OCR like library digitations and text looking out in scanned documents. During this paper, we tend to present a hardware implementation for an Optical Character Recognition by victimization FPGA Spartan 3EDK.
